What are the system requirements for Bluegem?

Bluegem is hosted by our hosting partner in Australia, but if you'd prefer it hosted internally, you'll need to know the system requirements.

Bluegem can be internally hosted (e.g. on a corporate LAN) or hosted on the web.

Bluegem is offered in either a shared hosting environment or a dedicated hosting environment on a managed Hyper V Server or dedicated machine. We use Windows Server 2008 R2 or higher platform with SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher database. The minimum hardware requirements are 2GB Ram and 50GB Hard Drive (HDD) or Solid State Drive (SSD). The choice is generally determined by storage and performance requirements. For RTO who need to host large amounts of video and document content with high performance a dedicated server would generally be recommended.

Bluegem does not use multi-tenanted hosting, i.e. many customers share a common application and database. Bluegem customers each get a dedicated application and a dedicated database regardless of the hardware platform. This arrangement greatly enhances: performance, security and maintainability of the hosted service. For data sovereignty and privacy reasons all databases are hosted in country of origin. In the case of Australia our Data Centres are located in Brisbane, Melbourne and Sydney.

If you choose to host internally, you must be capable of providing a Windows Server 2012 or higher OS, SQL Server database (SQL Server 2005 or higher) and support the .NET 4.5 framework or higher.
